Charles Idibia, younger brother to Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has issued a passionate warning to the singer, accusing his new partner of manipulation, emotional control, and sabotage.
In a series of emotional Instagram posts, Charles refrained from naming the woman directly but alleged that 2Baba’s current partner is behind a number of distressing changes in the singer’s life, including interference in his personal and professional affairs.
According to Charles, the unnamed woman hacked into 2Baba’s phone to prematurely announce his divorce from actress Annie Idibia, pressured him into relocating to Abuja, and convinced him to abandon key business operations and his management team in Lagos.
“You’ve been captured,” Charles wrote in one of the posts, adding that the woman reportedly began using 2Baba’s surname and introduced herself as his wife, despite his ongoing legal marriage to Annie.
In a heartfelt message, Charles described his brother as a peaceful, kind-hearted man who avoids conflict and often sacrifices his own well-being for others. He expressed concern that 2Baba is no longer in control of his own life.
“It’s not a crime to move on from a toxic place where you nearly lost your life and soul. But this isn’t moving on — this is captivity,” he wrote.
He further claimed that the woman had manipulated public perception by deleting and reposting photos of herself on 2Baba’s social media while he was unaware, even asking Nigerians to beg him to propose to her. She allegedly interfered with business trips, damaged industry relationships, and steered 2Baba into a reclusive lifestyle.
Charles warned that the situation resembled a true-crime story unfolding in real life: “You are living in an episode of Crime and Investigation or Love, Passion & Murder — and the victim is going to be you. How haven’t you realized this?”
In a final plea, Charles urged his brother to take a break from social media, step back from public life, and focus on personal healing and reflection.
“Take a few months off, alone. Let the music and business wait. Focus on your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Your seven beautiful children deserve a happy, healthy father.”
He concluded with a metaphor: “You are a master chess player. You know when to step away from the board to reevaluate the game. That time is now — before it’s too late.”
2Baba publicly introduced his relationship with Natasha in February 2025 following his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia.
