Abia State Governor Alex Otti on Sunday visited the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, at the Sokoto Correctional Centre.
The development was made known by Kanu’s special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, who shared the update in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Ejimakor commended Governor Otti for keeping his word, noting, “Thank you for fulfilling the promise you made to me to visit your brother, MAZI NNAMDI KANU. You are a man of your words and truly courageous.”
He further expressed hope that the visit would mark a turning point in Kanu’s situation, adding, “May God bless you. And may your august visit to Sokoto today be the first step toward ending this undeserved ordeal sooner rather than later.”
