The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has halted all academic activities following a directive from the Bauchi State Government amid escalating security threats in the state.
The announcement was made in an internal memo issued on Monday by the Deputy Registrar (Academics), Safiyo Yila, on behalf of the Registrar. The memo, addressed to all staff and students, confirmed that the suspension was in compliance with the government’s order to shut down all schools across the state.
The memo stated:
“Sequel to the public announcement by the Bauchi State Government, which directed the closure of all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions within the state due to security concerns, I am directed to inform you that all academic activities have been suspended with immediate effect.”
Yila added that the date for the resumption of activities would be communicated later and urged all departments to ensure full adherence to the directive to safeguard students and staff.
The Bauchi State Government had earlier declared the closure of all educational institutions as part of urgent measures to curb the growing insecurity affecting several communities.
The suspension at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi forms part of the wider response aimed at prioritizing the safety and well-being of residents amid heightened security challenges across the state.
