Sharing a nostalgic photo of the two on Instagram on Thursday, Rita reflected on their humble beginnings in Nigeria’s film industry, recalling a time when their journey was fueled purely by passion and dreams.
“When we started in Nollywood all those years ago, we were just passionate girls with a dream. We had no idea the incredible journey ahead or how our industry would grow to touch the entire world,” she wrote.
“To look around today and see how far we’ve come… it fills my heart with pride. No matter what, we did not walk alone.”
Rita Dominic and Genevieve Nnaji have spent 27 and 26 years, respectively, building their careers in Nollywood—becoming two of the most respected and iconic names in African cinema. Their legacies continue to inspire new generations of filmmakers, actors, and fans across the globe.
