Nollywood filmmaker and actor, Ugezu J. Ugezu, has shared a thought-provoking message on relationships, stressing that financial support should never be mistaken as a ticket to marriage.
In a Facebook post, Ugezu cautioned men against feeling entitled to a woman’s hand in marriage simply because they supported her education or personal growth.
“That you paid the school fees of a maiden and assisted financially in shaping her life does not mean you must marry her. There are things a man must do and leave for the universe. If she finally says no… walk away. Tomorrow will always be better,” he wrote.
According to him, providing help — whether through paying fees or offering financial assistance — should be seen as part of life’s responsibilities, not a binding contract. He encouraged men to embrace patience, maturity, and faith in the future rather than forcing relationships based on past sacrifices.
Ugezu further urged men to understand that if a woman chooses not to continue a relationship, the healthiest choice is to move on, as life always brings fresh opportunities.
His message has since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians applauding the actor for addressing a sensitive topic that often fuels unhealthy expectations in relationships.
Meanwhile, in another development, singer Yhemolee has spoken out following reports that his wife, Thaylor B, and her friends allegedly attacked interior decorator and businesswoman, Queen Akeredolu, over an alleged affair.
