Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Accord Party for the 2026 governorship election.

Governor Adeleke emerged winner at the Accord Party primary election with 145 votes.

Announcing the result of the primary, the Secretary of the electoral committee, Abdulazeez Salaudeen, said five votes were voided.

“The electoral committee has delivered on its mandate. After voting and counting, witnessed by the agents of the candidate and the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“Having the highest number of votes, I declare Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the primary,” Salaudeen said.

News reports that the screening committee of the Accord Party had earlier screened and cleared Gov. Ademola Adeleke for the party’s governorship primary.

This is contained in a statement by Mr Ibe Thankgod, the chairman of the committee and also the party’s National Organising Secretary, on Wednesday in Osogbo.

He said the committee subsequently cleared Adeleke as the sole aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket and concluded all required documentation with the relevant bodies
