Founder and General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has publicly revealed why he suspended his son, Benhail Muoka, immediately after his wedding to Precious Duru on July 26, 2025.
The decision, which has sparked widespread reactions, was disclosed during a sermon broadcast on Chosen Son TV. Addressing his congregation, Pastor Muoka stated that his son acted in a manner contrary to the doctrines and values upheld by the church, particularly during such a significant life event.
“Even me, at this point in time, I still discipline my children. One of them wedded yesterday, and I disciplined him last night,” he said during the sermon.
Pastor Muoka emphasized that no child is above correction, regardless of age, education, or marital status. He explained that immediate disciplinary action was necessary to ensure his son understands the importance of obedience and spiritual accountability.
“I said, you are now suspended because you must follow what I asked and what I am teaching, even in your wedding. So, I had to discipline him,” he stated firmly.
The cleric used the incident to urge parents to take an active role in correcting and guiding their children, warning that failure to do so can result in long-term consequences. He stressed that parental authority should not be compromised, and children must remain subject to their parents’ guidance in both moral and spiritual matters.
“Don’t say they are too big, that they’ve gone to school and you no longer have power over them — that’s wrong. Even now, I discipline my children,” he added.
Pastor Muoka concluded by encouraging members of his congregation and Christian parents at large to prioritize discipline, respect, and biblical values in the home, noting that love must include correction when needed.
The public suspension of his son has reignited conversations around faith-based parenting, church discipline, and generational obedience within religious households.
